How’d we get the name Haskris?

Our company was formed in 1944 by two partners who blended their last names – Messrs. Haas and Kristensen. They started out as an HVAC contracting firm, performing installation and service of refrigerated equipment in the local Chicago market.

Twelve years later, in 1956, a global manufacturer of electron microscopes introduced their new technology to North America and needed a custom-designed water chiller to provide precision cooling to their instrument. Mr. Haas, a highly respected mechanical engineer, was given the task to develop what became the first Haskris Model R100 chiller.

In 1970, Dan Falotico Sr. joined the firm as a mechanical engineer and eventually assumed ownership in 1972. By this time, Haskris had developed a strong reputation for its ability to design and manufacture high-performance, high-reliability chillers for challenging new technologies.

Dan Falotico Jr. joined his father in 1990 and assumed ownership and management responsibilities in 1999. Over the next 20 years, with an intensified focus on engineering capabilities, Haskris continued to develop new products for specialty OEMs that could not get what they needed from the broader chiller market.

Today, the Haskris name is synonymous with engineering excellence and industry-leading designs. With a third generation now on board, Lauren and Mark Falotico look forward to leading the company and supporting OEMs of the exciting new technologies that tomorrow will bring!
