A Revolutionary Design for Extreme Temperature Stability
Analytical Equipment Manufacturer
Problem:
When an international manufacturer of analytical equipment developed the next generation of their product, it required water temperature stability of +/- 0.005C. This extreme stability requirement was 10 times the resolution of the most refined chiller on the market at the time. The customer was certain the capability did not exist to meet their specification with an external chiller. The third-party thermal engineering firm they consulted agreed and recommended a solution that required an elaborate – and expensive – series of local heaters, piping manifolds, insulation and flow controls.
Solution:
Haskris believed the capability to meet the spec with an external chiller could be accomplished. We devoted a team of engineers to a six-month R&D project to design the first-ever chiller capable of +/-0.005C stability. This was achieved with a combination of sophisticated controls and mechanical features to manage the fluid circuit. Our design met the specification and came in at a fraction of the cost of the third-party solution.
Customer Cost Savings:
- Successful OEM Product Launch: The OEM customer’s product launched successfully with an innovative chiller design that delivered the stability required for their equipment’s performance.
- Reduced Purchase Price: Our chiller solution was a fraction of the cost of the alternative solution.
- Gained Market Share: The OEM customer gained competitive market share with the enhanced capabilities of their new technologies, enabled by the extreme stability provided by the Haskris chiller.
