Outsourcing to Haskris Makes Good Business Sense
Environmentally-Controlled Test Chamber OEM
Problem:
Historically, this OEM customer built their own on-board heat exchanger assemblies which were designed to circulate highly deionized water to cool a specialized light/heat source inside test chambers. The design required cooling by an external tap water source, which resulted in high operating costs for the end user. In many cases, the end user was prohibited by law to use tap water for process cooling.
Solution:
Haskris redesigned the client’s heat exchanger assembly to include modern technology for efficient heat transfer, significantly reducing the use of tap water. Haskris also designed an air-cooled version of the assembly for end-user customers who were prohibited from using tap water.
Customer Cost Savings:
- Lower cooling system and utility costs. Haskris filled a strategic gap by providing design and manufacturing capabilities that went deeper than the manufacturer’s in-house expertise. By having Haskris build the cooling systems, their engineers and manufacturing team could focus on initiatives more aligned with their core areas of expertise.
- Reduced utility costs. Our efficient chiller design required less waste water, further reducing utility costs.
- Increased reliability. Our chiller design provided greater reliability, which reduced unplanned downtime and saving costs on lost production, repairs and reputational damage.
- Lower inventory and overhead costs. By outsourcing the solution to Haskris, the OEM eliminated costs required for building the cooling system, including factory space, manufacturing line, labor and benefits.
- Continual technical enhancements. Haskris continually brings design improvement ideas to the table. As specialists in our field, our engineers are current on the latest technologies and approaches – something this OEM’s team did not have the time to do.
- Lower purchasing costs. By working with Haskris, the OEM reaps the benefits of our purchasing power in the industry as a chiller manufacturer, which helps reduce the overall cost.
